CERN sites are re-implaced as handdrawn litho-graphs evoking a speculative response. The residency draws upon technical knowledge gained in 2008; to realise a series of stone lithos at the Frans Masereel Centre in Belgium.

As the European hybrid (tilia x europaea) eclipses the English (tilia cordata) lime tree, the branches act as a repoussoir guiding the eye into the scene. The black board, a familiar instrument of rote, demands participation.

The text pieces reference speculative terminology to construct forced afterimages. The excel patterns are printed as luminous multilayered screenprints alluding to the visual display of statistics used by computer software.

Cartesian Discourse

A cartesian graph documents a discourse between scientist and artist. Semi-erased chalk markings relate to remnants of past discourses and extend the temporal narrative. Exhibited as part of Planchette and presented in a mechanical display device or "Pagivolt".
